Shasta Lake eyeglasses can come with different lens options, even if the lenses are for sunglasses lenses or for regular eyeglass lenses. Polycarbonate lenses are impact resistant. These are excellent for people who participate in sports, or work in a location where eyeglasses can be easily scratched or even broken. They also are very good for children’s lenses; children may inadvertently be careless and damage their eyeglasses. Polycarbonate lenses provide UV protection from the sun’s rays. Trivex lenses are like polycarbonate lenses except they are very lightweight and impact resistant. Some people feel they provide better vision correction than regular polycarbonate lenses. High index plastic lenses are lighter and thinner and can be very desirable for patients whose prescription calls for thicker lenses. Photochromic lenses can be made from glass or plastic and will change from perfectly clear to tinted when exposed to sunlight. Polarized sunglasses will keep you from being bothered by unwanted glare and are particularly useful while driving. To learn more about all these different lens options, and more, come in and meet with our optician at Enterprise Optometry Group.
